Nicky Wang
CEO
We. Red Bridge
China
Nicky Wang co-founded Red Bridge Communications with a rebellious spirit and a sharp strategic vision. As it started from a boutique agency, she scaled it into a 120-strong force with offices in Shanghai and Beijing. In 2018, following an acquisition by WE Communications, she took on the leadership role for WE Red Bridge and was promoted to CEO in 2021.
Since becoming CEO, Wang turned the agency into one of China’s most sought-after comms partners for global brands seeking meaningful growth, and powered the China launches of Lululemon, WeWork, Le Labo, Fenty Beauty, and Legoland. She has also advised legacy brands such as Adidas, Timberland, Celine, Loewe, and Four Seasons through transformation.
In the last year, the shop achieved double-digit revenue growth, retained key accounts and gained new clients, despite being in a challenging market. Meanwhile, talent retention rate exceeded the industry average.
In 2024, as budgets tightened and PR value came under fire, Wang doubled down instead of pulling back. She kicked off the fiscal year with three bold moves: fostering a collaborative culture that merged strategic depth with agile execution; reshaping the client mix to prioritise true partnerships over transactions; and flattening the agency’s structure to unlock creativity and ownership across teams. The results spoke for themselves as business conversion rates soared, large accounts doubled, profits surged, and talent stayed.
Wang also demonstrates her caring nature through her people-first leadership approach, which is reflected in flexible work policies, generous parental leave, and career development initiatives, including ‘Friday Work from Anywhere,’ paid leave for new parents, and executive mentoring workshops.
Outside the agency, Wang supports education for underprivileged girls through EGRC, advocates for LGBTQIA+ inclusion by partnering with NGOs like TrueSelf, and encourages her team to promote cultural preservation through an ethnic craft programme. She also supports working mothers by providing dedicated spaces that promote balance and dignity at work.
From leading an independent boutique agency to winning Greater China PR Agency of the Year at the PR Awards Asia, to being named Young Business Leader of the Year at Campaign’s Women Leading Change Awards, Wang has built a reputation for excellence. Today, she is a frequent judge at prestigious global and regional awards including the APAC Effie Awards (2024 & 2025) and the Stevie Awards (2025).
