Winnie Pang
Head of performance
Omnicom Media Group
Malaysia
Winnie Pang’s journey into digital began at the right time in the right place nearly two decades ago. She was able to quickly identify that brands were beginning to invest heavily in digital media and swiftly carved herself a career path led by data and impact. Now as head of performance at Omnicom Media Group (OMG) Malaysia, she leads a multidisciplinary team across paid search, paid social, programmatic, GA, GTM, brand safety, and SEO.
Pang has shown commendable results through her work for various clients. One of her key achievements was to lead the Malaysian rollout of a framework to detect and prevent operational errors for tech giants including Google, Meta, TikTok, and LinkedIn. This helped in preventing up to 70% of potential operational loss from common spending errors, leading to cost savings and risk reduction for the agency.
On top of that, her work in driving platform AI and automation—particularly in collaboration with Google—managed to improve resource efficiency by nearly 18% for the network, and further contributed to Malaysia’s role as a regional digital hub for OMG, supporting clients like Oppo and Kimberly-Clark.
Pang’s passion to progress digital media is evident in her partnership with IAS, where she spearheads a client-facing education series to help marketers understand how brand safety and ad verification directly impact performance, reputation, and media investments. She also leads OMG’s university engagement program for which live briefs, marketing bootcamps, and keynote sessions help to nurture the next gen of media professionals.
Additionally, Pang actively participates in broader industry conversations around gender equity, advocating for better representation of women in tech and digital leadership. Internally, she engages in mentorship initiatives, including being mentored herself by female leaders like Eileen Ooi (now CEO of PHD APAC) and Winnie Chen-Head (CEO, OMG Malaysia), while paying it forward by mentoring junior female talents within the agency.
