Sarissa Rodriguez-Schwartz's journey into marketing began in New York City, where she was raised by Puerto Rican and Italian parents, instilling in her the values of hard work, culture, and creativity. With a degree in International Business and Marketing from George Washington University, Rodriguez-Schwartz's career took off in brand marketing and events. Her passion for hospitality and creating emotionally resonant experiences led her to Singapore in 2009, where she played a pivotal role in launching Marina Bay Sands' nightlife project. This experience set the stage for her co-founding SJS Group, a hospitality collective renowned for its iconic venues.
As CMO and co-founder of SJS Group, Rodriguez-Schwartz excels in building brands that emotionally connect with audiences. Her notable projects include Bang Bang Nightclub, Employees Only, LuLu’s Lounge, Papi’s Tacos, and Mami’s Tamales. Her most ambitious project to date is C.O.T.U. (Centre of the Universe), an 18,000 square-foot multi-concept venue on the 39th floor of the CapitaGreen building in the middle of Singapore's central business district.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez-Schwartz's marketing campaigns are celebrated for their impact, blending sharp digital strategy, trend forecasting, and high-touch community building, generating thousands of early bookings. Her cross-platform performance strategy optimised SEO, launched integrated CRM flows, and built loyalty through programs and meaningful content and storytelling
Rodriguez-Schwartz's strategic marketing has been instrumental in SJS Group's success, guiding the company to over US$15.6 million (SG$20 million) in annual revenue. Her leadership is characterised by authenticity, strategy, and bold creativity. She remains deeply involved in the day-to-day operations, mentoring team members and ensuring excellence throughout the organisation. Rodriguez-Schwartz is also a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, evident in her initiatives to uplift local talent, create a supportive work environment and support a leadership team composed 70% by women.
Her commitment to inclusivity extends to her charitable efforts, supporting organisations like Food From The Heart and the CRIB Ball.
